Walk For Life And Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon + 5k
Thousands of walkers and runners have been helping Prisma Health Midlands Foundation kick breast cancer to the curb for 32 years! The impact of Walk for Life and Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon + 5K has been incredible with more than $11.3 million raised in support of Prisma Health Breast Center in Columbia, S.C. Through the generosity of our community and beyond, the latest innovative technology for early detection has been funded, and programs and services have been enhanced for patients and families.
After being 100% virtual for the last two years, well come together again on Oct. 22, 2022 at Segra Park in Columbia, S.C. to celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost and lift up others who are in the fight against breast cancer right now.
Register to walk or run the 5K in person on Oct. 22. Or, if you like the idea of walking or running a 5K in your own community at another time in Oct., register for the virtual walk or 5K.
If you have your sights set on running the Famously Hot Pink Half Marathon, your registration will be virtual . Run your favorite half marathon course anytime in Oct.

The American Cancer Society started Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks to unite communities in the fight against this deadly disease. Today, Making Strides is the largest network of breast cancer events in the nation – and we do more than just walk. We raise money to help the American Cancer Society fund groundbreaking breast cancer research and provide patient services like free rides to chemo, free places to stay near treatment, and a live 24/7 cancer helpline. But we cant do any of this without the help of people like you.

After two years of having a virtual event, we’re excited that we will be walking together on Sunday, October 2, 2022, in Downtown Redlands for the 15th Annual Believe Walk.
While technology brought us together and helped us further our mission when we couldn’t gather, nothing can adequately replace being together in person. We’re thrilled to be back in person to celebrate our survivors, honor those we have lost, and support those still in the fight. Because if these past years have taught us anything, it is that we are better and stronger together.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Susan G. Komen®, the world’s leading breast cancer organization, will hold an in-person MORE THAN PINK Walk in San Francisco to raise critical funds that support breast cancer research and breast cancer patients who are in need of financial assistance.
The San Francisco Walk will be held on Sunday, October 2, at the San Francisco Zoo & Gardens.
“We look forward to creating a community for anyone impacted by breast cancer as we gather, in person, for this year’s MORE THAN PINK Walk. We are excited to be spending the day with families and loved ones at the Zoo. Funds raised will support breast cancer research and patients in need of services like the Komen Financial Assistance Program,” said Jenifer Weiss, State Executive Director of Northern CA Susan G. Komen.
“Our goal is to raise $250,000 this year to support funding new research studies for breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer. Funds raised also help support individuals in need of patient support services including financial assistance. It is through our Walk that we can raise much-needed funds to get what breast cancer patients need new discoveries and advancements for breast cancer and financial support.”

Over the past 13 years, together we have raised millions of dollars for breast cancer research through our annual Walk With Love. This year, as the #1 breast cancer research organization in the U.S., we achieved even more. On May 15, we were so happy to be back in person . This year, we got the world moving once again!
As of 2020, breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the world in women, surpassing lung cancer with 2.3 million new cases. Now more than ever we need research to end this devastating disease.
Registered participants received a Walk With Love bundle, which included a limited-edition t-shirt, a custom walkers bib, and a social media toolkit to help you share your experience with the Walk With Love community online. VIP participants also received our collectible pin.

The first day begins with an inspirational Opening Ceremony where the adrenaline and anticipation of taking on 60 miles is like nothing youve ever experienced before. The feelings of pride and strength youll realize while walking 60 miles through the city of Dallas and its suburbs are only matched by the spirit and gratitude of the communities you encounter and those you are helping along the way. The route combines the most interesting history and architecture in the city of Dallas with the beauty of the surrounding suburbs.
You will spend two nights at the Dallas Hyatt Regency or a nearby hotel, in the embrace of the dedicated 3-Day community, sharing stories, eating meals together and making new friends. It all culminates in a Closing Ceremony celebrating everything you accomplished, remembering those we have lost, and honoring those who are in the fight of their lives.

Annual Care Walk To Support Breast Cancer Awareness Returns On Saturday May 14 2022
Hundreds of individuals and families will hit the pavement on Saturday, May 14, 2022, when the Breast Cancer 5K CARE Walk returns for its 20th and final year. This annual event has raised nearly $300,000 since 2001, with 100 percent of the proceeds helping organizations that support underserved and uninsured Miami Valley residents who are inflicted with cancer. All proceeds will go towards the CARE Walk Fund, a component of The Dayton Foundation, with grants advised by a committee of longtime, dedicated community volunteers.
Walkers and runners of all ages are encouraged to participate. The event starts at Oakwood High Schools Mack Hummon Football Stadium located behind the high school at 1200 Far Hills Avenue in Oakwood, on Saturday, May 14, 2002. Opening events, including registration and refreshments, begins at 8 a.m. with the walk starting promptly at 9 a.m. Registration is $15 per student, $25 per adult or $55 per family.
Over the past 20 years, CARE Walk, which started as a grassroots, student-focused fundraiser, has grown into a larger community-wide event, raising significant funds to help cancer survivors with services not covered by insurance, said Leigh Ann Fulford, co-founder of CARE Walk. All funds raised support individuals in the Greater Dayton area and are tax deductible, thanks to having a fund through The Dayton Foundation.

Diagnosed At 30 Years Old Breast Cancer Survivor Shares Exciting Update
Counting down to the Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio More than Pink Walk Saturday
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Its a very real concern: Young women diagnosed with breast cancer, worried about their chance of getting pregnant after treatment.
Some treatments to fight cancer can impact the ability to have a baby.
As we count down to the Komen Northeast Ohio More than Pink Walk on Saturday, a local breast cancer survivor is sharing an exciting update.
We first introduced you to Kristen Siskind in 2020. She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 30 years old. After chemo, radiation, and surgery, she was celebrating being cancer free.
Now, Siskind is celebrating, what she calls, a miracle: My husband Adam and I are expecting a baby girl in October of this year!
When Siskind went through treatment for breast cancer, there was a chance her ovaries and eggs would be damaged, making it harder to have a baby.
So, getting pregnant naturally came as a huge surprise.
Siskind couldnt even believe the pregnancy test.
I took three because I didnt believe the first one, or the second one, says Siskind.
She was bursting with so much excitement, she called her husband at work right away.
I couldnt wait six hours for him to come home. I had to call him immediately on video to let him know, Siskind says, adding that he was crying in a conference room.
Tears of joy, after a very long road.
Im just so happy and excited to be on this journey, to hopefully put cancer behind me, says Siskind.
